About ADL Caravan Services

Just a few words to explain my background, I trained at a Nottingham main dealer for six years to a very high standard on touring caravans. As well as day to day servicing my role included PDI, equipment upgrades, fault finding rectifications and warranty work on UK caravans and also German Hymer and Eriba imports. Coupled with this my role involved the need to provide excellent customer liaison to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction outcomes, this gave me an invaluable and excellent basis from which to build ADL Caravan Services.

ADL Caravan Services was proud and pleased to achieve Approved Workshop Status in early 2013 - having being independently assessed to a high standard with regard to training, knowledge, safety and ultimately customer satisfaction. This enables us to offer you a UK caravan manufacturer recognised warranty servicing and repairs.

By offering you a mobile service we know that it can be a much better option in terms of time, cost and convenience, for us to come to you for both your servicing and repairs, rather than you delivering your caravan or motorhome to the Dealer. In our experience communication breakdown, through layers of staff at dealers can and sometimes does lead to mis-diagnosis and possible poor outcomes and customer dissatisfaction.

We also have an ongoing commitment to keep up to date with industry developments and innovations. We attend industry training updates and courses in order to provide the high level of service expected in today's marketplace.

As an added level of reassurance we are able to say, we are Gas Safe registered (formally Corgi). Gas Safe registration is a significant step up from the standard minimum ACOPS qualification in terms of training, knowledge and examination.

This enables us to inspect and certify caravans and motorhomes "for Hire" purposes.

We are also proud to be an associated business partner to Costock Caravan Hire - servicing and maintaining their fleet of caravans throughout the year.

What we charge

Our prices are aimed to be a competitive and attractive alternative when compared to current main dealer prices when the time and expense of delivering your caravan or motorhome to and from the dealer is factored in.

We can do as much or as little as you require - We have covered the most frequent options below but will be pleased to take a call to discuss any requirement or questions you may have.

Answers to common questions

If you have any questions that are not answered here please contact us and we will be happy to help.

1. Do I need to empty my caravan/motorhome prior to having it serviced?
The less there is in the vehicle the easier it will be to service. If possible please remove your Aquarolls, Wastemaster ,awning poles, and chairs etc. Also clear as much as possible from the lockers especially floor storage and under beds. This makes it much easier to carry out a full test and visual inspection of panelwork during the moisture test.
2. Site Storage access and keys?
Please make sure that your site owner is aware and permission has been obtained beforehand. If we cannot carry out the service when we visit a call out charge will be added to the cost of the service/ repair work.

Please remember that we will need all the keys to the vehicle as well as any alarm fobs and key locking devices for wheels and Hitch locks.
3. How long does it take to service my caravan/motorhome?
A single axle caravan takes around 3-4 hours, a twin around an hour longer, dependent on the age and condition of the vehicle.

We aim to complete a service in a day.
4. What preparation do I need to do prior to service?
Please ensure the caravan or motorhome is in a "ready to service" condition at the time of your service appointment

Our engineer will need access to all sides of the vehicle, at least 1 metre all round. Electricity, LPG and water are also needed in order to test all the appliances. If on Storage we can supply all three. Please confirm at the booking stage.

The access and clearance note is particularly important. A caravan up against a fence or wall that needs unlocking and moving causes time delays and can cause possible problems if for instance the motor mover or battery are faulty or flat.

Please ensure wheel locks and other locking devices are removed in advance if possible and or all the keys are available, or, if on storage as the engineer arrives. Do not forget to make sure that any handbooks and the warranty booklet are also present.
5. Is there anything else that needs looking at in addition to the service?
If you think that something is not functioning correctly prior to the service please let our engineer know in advance. It may be possible to order parts in advance, repair at the service and keep costs to a miminum.

It’s a good idea to keep a notepad in your vehicle to record snags as they occur. Far easier than trying to remember when you get home.
6. Do you do repairs under warranty?
We carry out warranty repairs on behalf of some caravan/motorhome manufacturers and most OE manufacturers ie Truma/Thetford/Alde/Sargent etc. Please ring for further details.
